Associate Engineer

Our team in Space & Defense is looking for an Associate Engineer to join them. We are seeking a skilled individual with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude in manufacturing processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, adaptability, and quick learning are essential. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze situations promptly are required. If you can understand and communicate technical aspects effectively, please consider this role.

You will report to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager and will have an onsite work schedule at the Blacksburg Central site.

As an Associate Engineer, you will:

• You will be the support to a slip ring production line, as well as Outsource Vendors.

• As the Associate Engineer you will be responsible for the manufacturing process development and documentation with a domestic and international team.

• Tasks will involve creating, contributing, and approving engineering and tool drawings, order and support manufacturing tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, quotes and continuous improvement.

• Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and offer improvement suggestions for manufacturability.

• Enforcing and following policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as they apply such as ITAR

• Providing reports to management on daily, weekly and monthly performance to schedules and expenditures

• Support technical exchange discussions with suppliers and Moog.

• Cross-training to help in other areas as needed

To be considered for Associate Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

• Pursuing bachelor's degree in an engineering related field or technical area, or an associate degree in a technical field with 2 years of related experience.

• Experience communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other disciplines across the business

• Experience working with ERP/MRP business systems
