Responsibilities
MV Transportation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fleet Coordinator to manage and oversee subcontractor fleet operations for our Van Nuys, CA division. This role will ensure compliance with company standards, local regulations, and contractual obligations while maintaining optimal fleet efficiency and performance. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate subcontractor fleet operations, ensuring compliance with MV Transportation policies and procedures.
- Monitor subcontractor vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and overall condition to ensure reliability and safety.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including vehicle registration, insurance, inspections, and required certifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to address vehicle maintenance and repairs while minimizing service disruptions.
- Ensure all subcontractor drivers meet company and regulatory requirements, including background checks, drug testing, and proper licensing.
- Work closely with operations and dispatch teams to optimize vehicle assignments and efficiency.
- Track and report on key fleet performance metrics, including vehicle downtime, fuel usage, and compliance rates.
- Conduct periodic audits of subcontractor fleets to ensure adherence to safety and operational guidelines.
- Assist in resolving any fleet-related issues or disputes with subcontractors in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to improve fleet management processes.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fleet coordination, transportation management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle maintenance, and fleet operations.
- Experience working with subcontractors in a transportation environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and fleet management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
