Description

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Strategic Development, the Association Director of Membership is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase membership acquisition and retention for the private, corporate, and insurance reimbursement sectors. This position involves external relationship building with key community and business stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership



  1. Design and implement an annual plan to reach sales goals for branch membership units and corporate membership sales and services as determined by budget goals.
  2. Proactively identify, cultivate, and retain corporate partners to grow the corporate membership portfolio and achieve goals outlined in the annual performance plan
  3. Articulate, prioritize, and lead the implementation of association and corporate membership strategies that drive member participation, support retention goals, and foster a member-focused culture.
  4. Develop 3rd party membership reimbursement strategies and connections to enhance participation and programs to maximize revenue opportunities.
  5. Partner with Marketing and Financial Development to enhance engagement, raise awareness of the Y's mission, and create meaningful connections that build long-term loyalty.
  6. Grow membership revenue based on data, sales strategies, and alignment with strategic plan initiatives, working with association and branch teams to create goals, and measure results.
  7. In collaboration with the Director of Business Services help to define SOP's for membership and program registration.
  8. Utilize industry best practices, follow SOP's, implement training, and provide tools and resources to support Branch Membership Directors in communication of policies, procedures, and promotions to meet membership and corporate membership goals.
  9. Assist in development of the Membership budget. Monitor and help administer the budget to branches.
  10. Lead the Association Membership Cabinet and committees as directed by supervisor.
  11. Serve as the liaison with the YMCA of the USA and State Alliance on participation in Membership communication, and initiatives.
  12. Stay up to date on the newest trends, tools, and insights in Membership while serving as a resource and advocate across the organization to optimize plans based on these insights.
  13. In collaboration with the Association Director of Financial Development, participate in Association and branch events including the Annual Campaign, special events, and meetings as required by supervisor.
  14. Demonstrate integrity, lead YMCA character values and mission, promote teamwork, foster positive communication, and lead collaborative and forward-thinking relationships with staff and colleagues.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  1. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, public relations or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  2. Minimum of three years' experience in building and managing a high performing team of full time employees responsible for customer service and sales, leadership development, fiscal and program management.
  3. Must have good interpersonal, public relations, and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations.
  4. Excellent personal computer skills and strong understanding of various business software.
  5. Must have the ability to travel to branches during the workday and occasionally work evenings and/or weekend hours during special events/promotions.
