Compensation Grade: P25Compensation Details: Minimum: $91,922.00 - Maximum: $91,922.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) PHEP - Office of Health Emergency PreparednessJob Description: In addition to the Compensation Details above, the incumbent in this position will be eligible to receive location pay ($4,000/year). Responsibilities The Senior Program Coordinator for Planning and Training will play a vital role in strengthening regional emergency preparedness initiatives across all MARO regional programs. This position will provide assessment, strategic direction, coordination, and support for planning, and training efforts to enhance MARO regional readiness and response capabilities. Responsibilities include leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of emergency preparedness planning and training programs across MARO regional programs. The incumbent will design and deliver training sessions, discussion-based exercises, and educational materials to enhance emergency preparedness competencies amongst MARO staff. The position will also work in partnership with the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness and the Director, Regional Health Emergency Preparedness to facilitate interstate planning and coordination with neighboring states and oversee the formation and readiness of an internal regional Incident Management Team (IMT). The Senior Program Coordinator for Planning and Training will also collaborate with related associations and agencies to advance emergency planning, preparedness and response activities in the MARO region, ensuring alignment with regional and state emergency response guidelines. The incumbent will serve a critical role in regional emergency response. This may include, but will not be limited to, participation in the Administrator on Duty (AOD) program, staffing Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), and supporting the IMT during active incidents. The incumbent may respond to emergencies as needed. The position is based in New York City and will require frequent travel within and outside of the region. The position will require occasional work during non-standard hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays. The Senior Program Coordinator for Planning and Training will work with existing regional programs and the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness (OHEP) to contribute toward building this program. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of program coordination experience in a public health, health, or human services-related program or community-based organization; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. The experience must have been contributing toward the development, implementation and/or evaluation of a program, project, or other related activities. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the following courses:
Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 25% of the time, may be required. This position will require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available. Exposure to potentially hazardous substances may be involved with this position.
