The Language Technologies Institute (LTI) at Carnegie Mellon University is a world-renowned research and education hub at the forefront of natural language processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interaction. Established within the School of Computer Science, LTI pioneers innovative approaches to understanding, processing, and generating human language in both written and spoken forms.

The Language Technologies Institute (LTI) at Carnegie Mellon is looking for a part-time, fixed-term Research Assistant to join its team. In this role, you will help author interactive course materials, first starting with turning text-based training materials for conference paper reviewers into online interactive activities on a course platform.

You should demonstrate strong proficiency in the following skills:

  • Oral and written communication
  • Organization and planning
  • An ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with frequent interruptions
  • Prioritization and an ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail; keeping and maintaining accurate detailed reports and records
  • Teamwork and collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience developing interactive course materials is required.
    • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
