Summary of Job Duties:The Fiscal Support Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of various fiscal division programs by establishing work priorities and standards of performance, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications preferred);
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial management, grants administration, or related roles.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Experience in higher education or research settings is highly desirable.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee grant finances (budgeting, forecasting, and compliance) to ensure alignment with institutional and sponsor regulations;
  • Prepare and submit financial and grant-related reports, verifying accuracy and meeting established deadlines;
  • Manage procurement for research projects by maintaining vendor relationships and supervising purchasing protocols;
  • Coordinate administrative tasks, including front-desk operations, visitor reception, and general inquiries;
  • Organize travel logistics for staff, faculty, and guests, covering transportation, lodging, and required documentation;
  • Plan and facilitate on-site meetings and events, scheduling visitors and supporting research collaboration;
  • Assist with staff recruitment and onboarding, working with HR to uphold university policies and standards;
  • Provide guidance on personnel management matters such as timekeeping, training, and professional development;
  • Monitor and document curriculum changes in CORE's educational programs, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives;
  • Collaborate with faculty leads to assess the financial impact of curriculum adjustments and drive program effectiveness;
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, grant requirements, and internal policies, proactively mitigating risks;
  • Maintain organized and auditable records for both internal evaluations and external reviews.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abliities

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of financial software, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data;
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal grant rules, sponsor-specific guidelines, and relevant compliance standards;
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external partners;
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines with attention to detail.
