Posting Summary |
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Coordinator for the Campus Center is responsible for scheduling, planning, and executing non-academic events on the Camden Campus, primarily for recognized student events. This role ensures efficient use of campus facilities, oversees event logistics, coordinates with internal and external service providers; specifically, student groups, and maintains financial and operational oversight. Through management of student employees, the role requires the management and execution of well-organized events that align with the university's objectives, ensuring all activities are professionally carried out. This includes seamless coordination between clients, vendors, and campus service providers to guarantee smooth operations.
In addition, this position provides support for the facilities and maintenance activities that occur in the Campus Center. As directed, they will provide assistance in the coordination of large and small singular building projects, and will also routinely assess maintenance needs of the building, submitting and following up on work orders as needed. This position will have a large responsibility in regularly and routinely scanning the Campus Center environment and following up on or escalating challenges that impact the welcoming and active heart of the campus to maintain the positive and vibrant atmosphere. In addition, this position will have responsibility to routinely audit and report on various inventory.

Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combinations of education and/or experience. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; highly computer literate with ability to master new computer software applications; excellent oral and written communication skills; must work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, event-driven environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
* Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
* Experience in database management.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities effectively.
* Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and diplomatic skills preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
The Rutgers University-Camden Campus Center is open for operation well into the weekday evenings and through the weekends for the majority of the year. The standard schedule for this position will require some evening and weekend working hours. At some peak times of the year, this position may need some additional flexibility in working hours.
The incumbent in this position will spend the majority of any given shift moving around the Camden Campus Center, and is not sedentary. Additionally, it may occasionally be required to lift up to 20lbs |
