Could you be the Test and Commissioning (ITC) Engineer we're looking for?
Your future role
As a Test and Commissioning (ITC) Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing installation supervision and testing & commissioning activities related to Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) and SCADA systems. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the successful completion and handover of these systems to the customer or warranty phase. You will conduct comprehensive tests to validate system functionality and performance, diagnose and resolve technical issues during the testing phase, and ensure alignment with project requirements through analysis of technical documentation.
We'll look to you for:
- Leading and directing the ITC team to ensure the effective execution of installation and commissioning processes.
- Proactively managing internal project engineering interfaces and external technical communications with partners, third parties, and customers.
- Supporting the creation and approval of the 4-week lookahead schedule in collaboration with the ITC Manager.
- Ensuring timely and accurate execution of ITC activities while adhering to the budget and contractual requirements.
- Supervising installation contractors to deliver project scope on time and to Alstom quality standards.
- Preparing and conducting tests, performing log analyses, and compiling test reports to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Documenting non-conformance reports and communicating findings to the relevant teams to support resolution and improvement initiatives.
- Fostering a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. While we don't expect you to have every single skill, here are some that will help you thrive in this role:
- Strong knowledge of installation, testing, and commissioning processes, particularly for signalling projects.
- Proficient in the analysis of technical documentation and execution of test plans and reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on collaboration across teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting technical issues.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations relevant to rail systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or Embedded Systems) or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities for signaling systems.
- Knowledge of Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) architecture and experience with ATS and SCADA systems testing methodologies.
You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. When you step onto one of our trains with your friends and family, you'll take pride in playing a part in that journey. If you're ready for the challenge, we would love to hear from you!
