Salary range:
A reasonable estimate for this position is $53,100-$188,200. See Table Specialist Series - Represented Fiscal Year for the salary range for this position. Application Window Open date: March 26, 2025 Next review date: Monday, Apr 21, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Feb 2, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Specialist positions are occasionally available throughout the year in the Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center at the University of California, Irvine. These are typically grant-funded positions under the sponsorship of various faculty members (http://stemcell.uci.edu/people/). The ideal candidate should be self-driven and motivated, with stem cell research experience strongly preferred. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on performance and availability of funding. Laboratory experience is required. Specialized training or research experience in stem cell research. Qualifications Basic qualifications

Junior Specialists - Appointees to the Junior rank should possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience. Assistant Specialists - Appointees to the Assistant rank should possess a master's degree (or equivalent degree), or five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Associate Specialists - Appointees to the Associate rank should possess a master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Associate Specialists are normally expected to have a record of academic accomplishments, including contributions to published or in-press research in the field and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service. Full Specialists - Appointees to the Full rank should possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Specialists at full rank are normally expected to have a significant record of academic accomplishments, including contributions to published or in-press research in the field, professional recognition in the field, and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
