JOB SUMMARY

Responsibility for scheduling and dispatching aggregate deliveries Company-wide. Duties may include using radio, telephone, or computer to transmit assignments, compiling statistics and reporting on work progress. Provides customer service face to face interaction and over the phone. Tickets and weighs trucks in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Schedule and dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
  2. Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards.
  3. Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
  4. Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
  5. Monitor personnel or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
  6. Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories.
  7. Prepare daily work and run schedules.
  8. Works with truck foreman to set start times & driver/truck resources required.
  9. Directs haulers to jobsites.
  10. Contacts customer representative on the job once delivery starts.
  11. Receives orders from various order takers or outside customers and schedules loads.
  12. Receive or prepare work orders.
  13. Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
  14. Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and field inspectors using telephones or two-way radios.
  15. Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
  16. Maintains communications throughout the day with drivers.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.
