The Role
Coordinate a comprehensive tennis-specific strength and conditioning program for USTA Player Development athletes. This position will work with other performance team members to test, train and track elite level tennis players.
Work closely with the Director, Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Trainers/Physical Therapists, Strength and Conditioning coaches, and Heads of Men's and Women's Tennis to develop and administer performance enhancement and injury prevention programs and educational materials for elite players and coaches.
- Make frequent contact with elite prospects and coaches to ensure implementation of and adherence to training programs.
- Work extensively with professional players and other elite high performance tennis players at USTA Training Centers and at tournaments (nationally and internationally).
- Administer and coordinate under the direction of the Director, Strength and Conditioning, USTA testing, training and tracking protocols for players who train at the USTA Training Centers.
- Work closely with the Coaching Education & Performance team in both the development of educational materials for strength training & conditioning, injury prevention and assisting in the High Performance Coaching Program (HPCP) as required.
- Make presentations at appropriate events including High Performance Coaching Programs to help educate coaches, players and parents in the sport sciences.
- Represent the USTA at meetings and conferences, such as NSCA, ITF, USOPC, USPTA, PTR, etc.
- USTA Training Center - West in Carson, CA and regional training centers for training camps, coaching education events and to work with players.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's Degree in Sport Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
- Extensive knowledge of growth and developmental considerations for athletes across different age groups, including pre-puberty, puberty, and young adulthood.
- Experience working with elite-level athletes, with an understanding of tennis-specific movements, injury patterns, and conditioning needs.
- Ability to physically demonstrate exercises in both weight room and on-court training settings.
- 3+ years of full-time experience in strength & conditioning, preferably with elite athletes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Sport Science or a related field.
- Registered Strength & Conditioning Coach (RSCC) certification.

The expected range for the annual base salary for this position $72,000 to $88,000. Any additional pay or benefits a person may qualify for, are not included in this range. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
