SUMMARY

Maintains count and organizes all compounding materials in warehouse and blending area. Operates lift truck to receive, ship, and move material to and from blending area. Lift truck operators must complete the Company's lift truck training within one month of accepting the position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Operate lift truck to receive incoming compound material and complete required paperwork.
  • Send samples of compound material to the lab for testing.
  • Operate lift truck to load outgoing regrind material and complete required paperwork.
  • Move material with lift truck to and from blending area.
  • Enter received compounding material and outgoing regrind material into computer system.
  • Perform monthly inventory and enter data into computer system.
  • Complete required paperwork and forward to appropriate department.
  • Work without close supervision.
  • Keep area clean and orderly.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of the supervisor/manager and/or lead.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Knowledge

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience

Lift truck and material handling experience including counting material and entering data into computer system.

  • Skills

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Count and enter data into computer system.

  • Communication

Communicate in writing and orally with supervisor, lead, and other employees. Write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and occasionally is required to walk or stand. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to handle tools or controls and handle material. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must occasionally move 100 lb to 300 lb barrels. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and forklifts, precarious places, and in the outside weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
