The General Services Worker provides a variety of general support work for the various program and operation areas of the Oshkosh Corps.

This is a part-time, 25 hours/week position. Hours 7:00am-12:00pm Monday-Friday.

About the role:

Building and Grounds



  • Performs daily cleaning tasks in all areas of the building to include sweeping and mopping all tile floors, spot cleaning bathrooms and supplying with toilet paper and paper towels, and trash removal, cleaning dishes, etc. Thoroughly cleans bathrooms and vacuums all carpeting as needed. Regularly cleans windows and glass doors.
  • Removes snow from sidewalks on both Algoma and High Streets and the walkways to the front and side of the building. Salts walkways and parking lots as needed.
  • Performs general landscaping duties such as trimming hedges, pulling weeds, and watering plants, flowers, and grass.
  • Checks and cleans gutters on a regular basis.
  • Keeps garage, storage shed and other storage areas clean and organized for their intended purpose.
  • Cleans up broken glass or spilled liquid from floor, parking lot, and other areas within facilities andgrounds in a timely, safe manner.


Driving Duties



  • Picks up bakery and bread donations in accordance with established schedule.
  • Picks up regular food donations from local restaurants and institutions.
  • Unloads food donations and deliveries; records and stocks product appropriately.
  • Assists with transportation and other needs for special event and seasonal programs, including the Red Kettle Campaign.


Pantry



  • Assists in the food pantry with moving, storing, and organizing product, and with food distribution.


Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: One-year relevant experience preferred
Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's license, with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier.
