Carnegie Mellon University's department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking a Research Scientist to join their team. The Research Scientist role is responsible for determining priorities for project area based on overall organizational goals. The incumbent will direct the work of project members to ensure goals are achieved. Frequently presents research findings to current or potential sponsors and at major national or international conferences.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Propose and lead independent research goals within scope of projects.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Contributor in developing and documenting research findings and collaborator in writing scientific papers
  • Acts as team leader, providing project management direction
  • Lead research efforts within main goals of project, and help coordinate interactions with other team members and universities.
  • Writing documentation, technical papers, progress reports and participating in meetings/committees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5-8 years of research experience
  • Project Management Experience
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
