Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Inpatient

Spring Harbor Hospital has an opening for aPsychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner(PMHNP) orPsychiatric Physician Assistant(PPA) to provide psychiatric and medical care for hospitalized adults, adolescents, and children. The position is a unique schedule, working 7 days on, and 7 days off. There is 24-hour support available from the Medical Director.

Schedule:The hours are 8am-4:30pm Sunday through Friday, and a 24-hour shift on Saturdays.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degreewith an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.
• 1+ years of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital.
• Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.
• Current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the Maine State Board of Licensure and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
• Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
