We are currently seeking a CAD Designer on our corporate engineering team at our site in Charleston, TN.

What you will do:

The CAD Designer is responsible for creating detailed and precise mechanical and piping designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role involves developing and drafting plans for various projects, ensuring that all designs adhere to company standards and industry specifications. The designer collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, incorporate feedback, and ensure that designs align with project objectives. Additionally, the designer maintains comprehensive documentation, conducts quality checks, and addresses design challenges by developing innovative solutions. Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies is essential to continuously improve design processes and deliverables.




  • Design and Drafting: Develop detailed mechanical and piping designs using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, E3D, COMOS or SolidWorks).
  • Standards Compliance: Comprehend and apply company piping standards and specifications to ensure compliance and consistency across all projects. This includes interpreting technical documents, guidelines, and industry standards to effectively integrate them into project designs and implementations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, incorporate feedback, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including drawings, schematics, and technical reports, to support project development and execution.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks of designs to identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Problem Solving: Address design challenges by developing innovative solutions and optimizing designs for efficiency and functionality.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing or construction teams during the production or building phase. Explore new tools and techniques to improve design efficiency and quality.



What we need from you:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 1+ years of CAD piping design experience or associate's degree with 3+ years of CAD piping design experience is preferred. 6+ years relevant CAD piping design work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.


  • Ability to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models
  • Working knowledge of 2 or more of these or similar software's - AutoCAD, REVIT, COMOS, MicroStation
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in design work.
  • Basic problem-solving skills to address design challenges
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and piping systems, including materials, components, and assembly processes. Ability to interpret and apply company-specific piping standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations to ensure designs meet compliance requirements.
  • Team player attitude with ability to work with various levels of the organization
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot; effective planning and time management is vital to this role


  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing, maintenance or EPC engineering environment preferred
  • Familiar with principles and procedures of project engineering practices and project management
  • Ability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with others and comfortable with asking questions
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal and formal written & verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
