Crate Builder - Shipping

Intralox, L.L.C. has an opening for a Crate Builder in the Intralox Shipping Department. Responsibilities include the building of large and small crates using various sizes and grades of lumber, ordering of needed supplies, storing them upon delivery and stocking of pre-cut wood for closing in of crates by the packing team. Duties also include package handling and transporting items to other workstations or staging area utilizing a cart, pallet-jack, fork-lift, etc. This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
*Safely operate wood working tools including pneumatic nail and staple gun, multiple mechanical saw machines and strapping devices
*Review multiple system generated reports to schedule workflow priorities within the Crating department
*Maintain logs for production, product usage and inventory levels
*Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementation of strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
*Transport goods to other workstations as required
*Exhibit self-management and teamwork
*Follow the attendance policy of the department
*Follow all safety procedures and policies
Requirements:
*Design and build custom-sized crates as needed
*Prior experience with air tools including nail gun, saws and various power tools
*Computer skills including email, updating production logs, production reporting, etc.
*Unload lumber and place in assigned racking
*Hard working and self-managed with good communication and organizational skills
*Previous experience in woodworking or construction that would relate to this position
*Strong attention to detail
*Strong math and related computer skills such as Microsoft Excel
*Self-managed and motivated individual who can work well within a team environment
*Understands the value of excellent customer service
*Ability to perform essential physical job requirements which include lifting 25 to 50 lbs. regularly and 50+ lbs. occasionally
*Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
*Willing to cross train for other Shipping functions
*Organize storage of crating material and maintaining housekeeping in the work area
Desired Qualifications:
*Forklift certification or prior experience operating a forklift
*Familiarity with Oracle and Kewill operating systems
*Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
