Job Summary

Will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company requirements. Performs analysis of materials and determines optimum control levels. The Purchasing Manager must have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Description

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the planning and coordination of a company's inventory and purchasing departments.
  • Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability
  • Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
  • Reviews purchase orders compliance with company and departmental policies.
  • Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency for inventory control.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
  • Sets authorization limits for purchasing staff.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 + years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Computer proficiency (MS Windows and Office)
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (ORCLE preferred)
  • Acceptable organizational and time management skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is located in a busy office environment with moderate noise levels. The role demands frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 55lbs, and working near moving mechanical parts with a loud noise level. Proper safety equipment is mandator. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions, which include extreme hot and cold weather, humidity, rain and wind.
