Shopper & Category Insights Analyst, Easton, PA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Shopper and Category Insight Analyst is responsible for gathering, harmonizing, and distilling shopper and category insights into actionable customer-specific merchandising recommendations aligned with strategic category growth objectives. This role plays a crucial part in assisting in the development, fielding, translation, and activation of custom shopper research across all channels and accounts to proactively identify opportunities, communicate and visualize insights, and measure execution throughout the business planning cycle. The analyst will also assist in the distillation of major seasonal analytical deliverables, including weekly war rooms, readiness tours, promotional events, and merchandising activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Gathering and Harmonizing Data: Collect and consolidate shopper and category data from various sources to provide a comprehensive view of the market.
  • Distilling Insights: Analyze and interpret syndicated POS data, shopper metrics, and customer P2P research to distill key insights that can be translated into actionable merchandising recommendations.
  • Custom Shopper Research: Assist in the development, fielding, translation, and activation of custom shopper research projects across all channels and accounts.
  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify growth opportunities through thorough analysis of shopper and category data (POS, syndicated, social listening, and shopper research).
  • Communication and Visualization: Effectively communicate and visualize insights to stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
  • Execution Measurement: Measure and track the execution of merchandising and promotion throughout the business planning cycle.
  • Seasonal Analytical Deliverables: Assist in the preparation and distillation of major seasonal analytical deliverables such as weekly war rooms, readiness tours, promotional events, and merchandising activities.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • BA or BS in business related studies (MBA preferred).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in customer and category management across multiple channels.
  • Broad knowledge of CPG industry sources and uses, vendors and their tools and capabilities including syndicated data, shopper panel data, customer specific POS portals, and custom research.
  • Ability to connect disparate data sources, interpret analysis results, formulate recommendations, develop impactful presentations.
  • Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong Analytical skills - able to quickly identify trends, opportunities and business solutions.
  • Experience translating retailer POS and creating action plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop multiple direct reports.
