Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $50,000 to $60,000. Position Summary
This position contributes to the design and delivery of research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute and interpret research projects. Performs complex laboratory and data collection techniques.

The Gallon Lab is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Specialist to support impactful research in transplantation and aging. The successful candidate will contribute to molecular and cellular research, assist with clinical studies, and manage biobanking activities during the afternoon shift (12-8 PM).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Biobanking Activities:
  • Collect, process, and store clinical samples during the afternoon shift (12-8 PM).
  • Maintain detailed and accurate biobanking records.
  • Support for Clinical Studies:
  • Assist with aging-related patient visits, including routine physical assessments and administering questionnaires.
  • Research Support:
  • Perform molecular and cellular biology techniques, immunology, biochemistry, and proteomics.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and contribute to presentations, grants, and publications.
  • Lab Management:
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure lab safety and organization.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in science or related field required. Master's degree in science preferred
      A minimum of 3 years of related research experience
      Possess and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
      Proficient in specific lab research techniques.


    Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in molecular and cellular biology techniques.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with biobanking and handling clinical samples.
  • Familiarity with ELISA, flow cytometry, PCR, cell culture, and proteomics.
    Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and time management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
