PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Construction Specialist provides on-site technical expertise and guidance during the construction phase of projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role supports the successful delivery of construction projects by assisting in the development of construction practices, coordinating activities, and overseeing construction supervision. The Construction Specialist works collaboratively with project teams to address site challenges, optimize project execution, and contribute to the overall success of Worley's sustainable solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide technical guidance on construction methods, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the interpretation and adjustment of designs to accommodate site conditions, promoting efficiency and sustainability in execution.
  • Oversee construction supervision, ensuring activities align with quality, safety, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Review completed construction tasks, verifying conformance to engineering designs and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of construction practices that enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize construction methodologies.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety standards, fostering a safe and responsible work environment.
  • Assist in the coordination of on-site construction activities, ensuring seamless execution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Communicate project status and key construction insights to relevant teams, contributing to informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET



  • University degree in a relevant field or an equivalent trade qualification with further relevant training and experience.
  • Practical construction experience, with those holding trade qualifications typically having several years of related experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make independent technical decisions and provide recommendations within assigned projects.
  • Proficiency in construction systems, processes, and tools, ensuring effective execution and oversight of construction activities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, engaging with supervisors and project teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to peers, stakeholders, and management.
  • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality in construction practices, aligning with Worley's mission of delivering sustainable change.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, environmental considerations, and project management principles in a construction setting.
