Quality Control Technician

Tenneco is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Quality Control Technician that will be responsible for making quality decisions with regard to acceptance or rejection of incoming components and assembled rotators. This includes investigation into what is causing the rejection and determining when escalation is required.

An ideal candidate for this position is a candidate who possesses the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, procedures, manuals, etc.

You'll first hear from someone in Human Resources to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with the Hiring Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Perform statistical data entry and analysis on incoming and outgoing products.
  • Perform statistical analysis and record required quality data on computer, using appropriate software.
  • Understand and follow all standard operating procedures concerning safety, quality, packaging, labeling, shop order numbers, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints/component drawings in order to understand and verify conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety rules.
  • Understand the plant escalation policy in order to notify your Supervisor or other management team members an issue that needs to be addressed.
  • Begin to perform receiving inspections on purchased components and RAW material.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, hardness testers, comparators, etc.
  • Perform statistical analysis and record required quality data on computer, using appropriate software.
  • Understand and perform layered process audits.
  • Participate in TiPS process that impact Quality.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on required equipment.
  • Participate in APQP processes as delegated by department Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:




  • At minimum: 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in the manufacturing field.
  • Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
  • High-level of visual awareness.
  • Ability to frequently lift 35 pounds, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
  • Experience drafting reports and collating data.
  • Effective collaborator and strong communication skills.
