Technical Director

BigBear.ai is seeking a Technical Director to support the digital transformation of an international customer's military readiness capabilities through the design, development, and programmatic leadership of a military readiness and force management platform. This position will be fully remote and based out of Tyson's Corner, Virginia.

You'll direct the design and implementation of advanced systems as part of our multidisciplinary team of data engineers, analytics developers, software engineers, UI/UX developers, and military readiness subject matter experts. Together, we're creating an innovative platform that bridges cloud-based development with on-premises deployment, providing military decision-makers with unprecedented visibility into force readiness, resource allocation, and operational planning. • Develop and implement technological strategies aligned with program and customer platform objectives

• Manage technical teams and resources, ensuring efficiency and productivity

• Supervise the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of systems or products

• Assess technical risks and opportunities, mitigating challenges as needed

• Monitor quality control processes and establish standards for technical operations

• Define technological strategies for software pipelines and tools

• Establish standards and procedures to track and measure project progression

• Provide technical support and guidance to development teams

• Monitor application performance to identify areas for improvement

• Ensure data security and compliance with prescribed standards

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• 10+ years software development experience, 5+ years of experience with scalable application architectures

• Comprehensive understanding of software engineering principles, software life cycles, and continuous integration

• Expertise in build and release methodologies

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Experience with cloud technologies and big data

• Experience with military or defense systems

• Experience with cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud

• Database management systems, including SQL Server

• API development and integration

• Experience with cloud-based development and on-premises deployment

• Knowledge of AI/ML implementation for decision support

• Experience working with international clients

• Strong communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams
