Position Title: Sales Account Representative, Ingredient Sales - Matcha Powder
Location: Torrance, CA (Onsite)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Working Hours: 9am - 6pm (M - F) (Flexible)
Compensation: Base Salary + Commission, Benefit Package (Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, PTO)
Overview:
A high-quality matcha tea manufacturer, sourced directly from Japan regions, is seeking a dynamic and driven Account Manager for their ingredient product line. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with food and beverage manufacturers, restaurants, cafes, and other businesses who utilize tea as an ingredient. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to drive sales growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not are limited to:
Sales & Business Development:
* Identify and prospect new potential clients within the food and beverage industry.
* Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
* Present and demonstrate our matcha ingredient products to potential and existing clients.
* Negotiate pricing and contract terms.
* Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations.
* Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.
Account Management:
* Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients.
* Provide exceptional customer service and support.
* Address client inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
* Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
* Provide product knowledge and technical support to clients.
* Forecast customer needs and sales.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
* Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activities.
* Gather and analyze market data to identify new opportunities.
* Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts.
* Provide feedback to the product development team on customer needs and market trends.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with the marketing, logistics, and production teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
* Attend industry events and trade shows.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in business, food science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 1 year of sales experience or a demonstrated strong interest and aptitude for pursuing a sales career.
* Experience in the food and beverage industry is highly preferred, or a strong interest and eagerness to learn about the industry.
* Interest in Japanese culture, particularly matcha, is a significant plus.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
* Able to attend domestic travels (2-3 nights) for client visits and trade shows occasionally. The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
