Job Summary

The Financial Services Innovation Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking a Research Scientist II.

Led by Sudheer Chava, Alton M. Costley Professor of Finance at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, Director of the M.S. in Quantitative and Computational Finance (QCF) program and Director of Center for Finance and Technology, Georgia Tech's Financial Services Innovation Lab is in the heart of the Atlanta's Tech Square innovation ecosystem. The FinTech lab is a hub for fintech education, research, and industry in the Southeast. The lab acts as a platform to connect and bring together faculty and students across Georgia Tech with the financial services industry and fintech entrepreneurs. Fintech Lab conducts research at the intersection of AI and Finance and support more than 10 Finance and ML PhD students and 2 post docs.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the research areas of artificial intelligence and finance, engaging to fulfill the responsibilities of the sponsored and non-sponsored research projects.
  • Lead and contribute to ML/NLP research in the financial services sector writing high-impact publications.
  • Write grants, prepare grant reports to funding agencies and corporate sponsors, and serve as project leader on multiple projects.
  • As project leader, mentor graduate and undergraduate students working on sponsored and non-sponsored research projects and approve time.
  • Assist in carrying out background research for submitting grant proposals.
  • Develop and maintain software tools and applications to support research projects at the Financial Services Innovation Lab and Center for Finance and Technology.
  • Serve on the organizing committee of the annual AI and Future of Finance conference and other conferences organized by MS-QCF, Financial Services Innovation Lab and Center for Finance and Technology at Scheller College of Business.
Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree, and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
  • A Master's degree, and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree
Preferred Qualifications

PhD in Machine learning or related field
