Overview Purpose of the Job: The Product Management Intern will work closely with our Product Managers to assist in understanding the marketplace, evaluating competitive products, and execute tactics to support the product development process across their product categories. We are looking for individuals who are curious about how products work and want to gain exposure to the process of bringing products to market from concept to production. Interns will be introduced to the process of identifying market opportunities through competitive analysis and end user research and translating those into possible future product development projects. A successful candidate will possess a unique blend of proactive attitude, an openness to try new things and a passion for learning. He/she will gain exposure to many cross-functional groups throughout the organization including brand, marketing, sales, channel, engineering, ID and sourcing and will be a key team member with assignments that directly contribute to active programs. Product management interns will learn through direct experience how to be a product category associate with direct influence on product roadmaps. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions): Business & Marketing Understanding Assist in assigned activities to gain market awareness across the product portfolio(s). These plans are centered on end user, marketplace and competitive dynamics and help the Product Marketing team to take a holistic view in building a comprehensive and creative plan of attack. End User Understanding & Market Research Gain end user insights through a suite of qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies. The Product Management Intern will explore consumer research to help develop insights used to develop the next generation of core product categories. Branding & Communication The Product Management Intern will assist the Product Managers to execute tactics to build the brand and ensure all products and plans support the core brand positioning and messaging. This may include delivering against integrated marketing campaigns, implementing brand or end user promotions, and working with customer and channel marketing on customer marketing needs. Business Analysis & Overall Portfolio Management The Product Management Intern will gain an understanding of the P&L, key business metrics, and the levers that drive financial performance. He/she will be exposed to the development of business cases that include ROI and justification for utilization of resources and/or capital. The Product Management Inters may assist with compiling key market data that feeds understand of market conditions and an understanding of impact on both current and future portfolio plans. Qualifications Experience & Education: Required:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, accounting, business economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
