ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to support the design efforts for a variety of project types. This role will primarily be working on renovation designs that are tied to the DoD or GSA projects. The role will majority work on project designs but will also be involved with design reviews and construction commissioning (making sure the designs are installed correctly).

Job Functions:

  • Provides fire protection and life safety input on renovation designs that are tied to DoD or GSA.
  • Leads coordination of fire protection engineering and life safety elements of the fire protection program, and in the operation of fire protection surveillance and alarm systems operations in compliance with current codes and standards and best industry practice.
  • Conducts facility surveillance assessments.
  • Assists with site-wide fire alarm operations.
  • Reviews authorization basis documents relating to fire protection.
  • Leads or supervises the research of information for fire protection life safety, and code compliance related activities.
  • Supports construction and commissioning of new facility projects, significant facility modifications, and new or modified programmatic and research activities for fire protection and life safety compliance to requirements and project specs.
  • Reviews, provides feedback and approves contract documents consisting of drawings and specifications, which define changes to buildings and infrastructure.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of Fire Protection design experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Design experience in at the Federal government market
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Capability of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
