Bachoco USA is seeking a Sr. Live Operations Management Trainee in theFort Smith, AR / Heavener, OKarea.

Summary: The Sr. Live Operations Management Trainee will learn and master all aspects of Bachoco USA live poultry process. Trainees will gain hands-on experience in the live poultry industry and gain the knowledge and operations skills to build upon long term career in live poultry operations. Trainees will be challenged throughout the training program to perform on-the-job tasks, complete assignments, demonstrate learning mastery, develop, and demonstrate competencies and gain a working knowledge of the operational excellence required in each facet of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Rotates through sessions throughout various departments to gain hands on management experience in the poultry industry and an understanding of fully integrated live operations process.
  • Performs on-the-job tasks in poultry farms (Breeder & Pullet) and hatcheries.
  • Complete assignments and coordinate daily activities with department leader.
  • Understands company specifications on farm conditions, bird flocks, bird health, egg hatch rate, chick production, hatch scheduling, and operating in a safe and quality environment to achieve goals of performance.
  • Administer vaccines and draw blood according to the state and federal programs.
  • Follow any and all directives set forth by senior manager.
  • Develops and demonstrates management competencies.
  • Gains a management knowledge of live poultry operations (Breeder, Pullet, and Hatcheries).
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Travel: Will require travel to work and train in facilities located in Arkanasas and Oklahoma.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in (Agriculture, Agribusiness, Poultry Science, Animal Science) and 2 years' experience working in live poultry operations (Broiler, Breeder, Pullet, Hatchery, Feed Mill).

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software. Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver's license and qualify for the company driver program.

Other Qualifications: Highly organized and able to think systemically to structure the work and design in a logical flow. Other key attributes include self-motivated, organized, computer literate, attention to detail and follow through with exceptional writing and communication skills.
