Job Summary:

The Chart Operations Supervisor or HIM Supervisor will have the responsibility of metric reporting, assist with project set up, and hiring and training. The Supervisor will oversee the Chart Operations team and will be in charge of the team's performance in retrieval volume, maintaining efficiency workflow and identifying obstacles in chart retrieval. The Supervisor will be responsible for direct communication of project status, individual employee performances, and issues/problems related to chart retrieval project. The Supervisor will be expected to play a key role in problem solving, enhancing, and improving processes. This individual must have the ability to perform all duties related to chart retrieval including obtaining medical records from various Electronic Health Records Systems as well as onsite record retrievals. The position may require travel for onsite retrievals in different states. This position requires great accuracy with repetitive tasks, good organizational and multi-tasking skills, critical thinking skills, professionalism, and most importantly leadership skills. Experience with Health Information Management (HIM) and exposure to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is required.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School diploma.
  • 2-3 years' experience with Health Information Management (HIM) and exposure to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) required.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification preferred.
  • Experience in a medical insurance office preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn various software systems.
  • Able to download, sort, rename and file documents electronically
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
  • Customer service experience both direct and phone.
  • Ability to be innovative and take initiative.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervisor.
  • Attention to detail to maintain medical records according to standards.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
