As the Vice President of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and driving continuous improvement across the organization. Your leadership will extend to both the EHS and CI teams, guiding them to ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while also enhancing operational efficiency. You will take charge of hiring, training, and managing a high-performing safety team, delivering comprehensive safety and environmental training programs, and pushing for the adoption of new technologies and reporting enhancements. Additionally, you will lead the corporate CI team, championing the CI culture and integrating its principles to drive waste elimination, capacity gains, and revenue generation through the MASCO Operating System (MOS). Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain audit-ready compliance with OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations. Manage documentation and reporting.
  • Safety: Balance safety compliance with all aspects of the business globally. Lead efforts to integrate safety, health, and environmental values into all work processes.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI): Lead and support CI initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity and revenue generation using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Training & Development: Through your team, develop and implement training materials and setting company expectations as needed based on new processes and equipment for safety and environmental. Provide materials to facilities and retail store team members that optimize our safety-focused culture to foster growth and compliance for all team members. For CI, develop and implement new MOS tools as well as train new team members on existing tools as required. Celebrate success and share learnings and actions on disappointments.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Investigate SH&E incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Manage risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
  • Budgeting & Reporting: Develop and manage budgets for your corporate cost centers, meeting monthly to review finances based on SOx compliance. Lead the CI reporting for Behr to MASCO working with all departments to track progress.
  • Leadership & Communication: Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and corporate leadership to drive SH&E and CI performance, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Experience/Education:

  • A completed high school education is required. Bachelor's degree in a SH&E-related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years in SH&E roles within manufacturing organization is a benefit, with experience in ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Lean, and TPM concepts preferred.
  • Experience in implementing, managing, and leading CI initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen projects.

Skills & Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and CI skills.
  • Ability to successfully operate in fast-paced environments and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office and relevant software.
  • Proficiency in CI tools and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive process improvements
  • Analytical skills to assess process inefficiencies and develop actionable solutions
Company: Behr Paint Company Full time Hiring Range: $166,100.00 - $260,920.00 Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
