Job Description


TITLE: Document Control and Coding Specialist

REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SHIFT: 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Purpose:

Assist Quality Assurance department in a variety of administrative support functions including document control, packaging coding, hold and release status and special projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:




  1. Document control, review all processing and production records for CCP's (Critical Control Points) and CIP's (Clean In Place)
  2. Document review for accuracy and completeness
  3. Receive coding setup requests
  4. Enter coding information in JAZZ (company enterprise system)
  5. Setup coding in production printers
  6. Create coding mockups for customer approval
  7. Communicate coding information to production personnel
  8. Work with Packaging Coordinators in regards to coding specifications
  9. Strong organization, planning, follow-up, basic math, and accountability skills are paramount.
  10. This position will be responsible to coordinate activities with packaging coordinators, production supervisors and quality assurance.
  11. Make sure that all company policies; procedures and work rules are followed in regards to coding and document control.
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Quality Managers or other members of JP management.



Qualified candidates will have leadership capabilities, proven track record of strong planning and organization skills, experience with documentation and procedures (SOP's), ability to assign work functions, follow-up on tasks and ensure a safe environment.




  1. Special projects, including packaging specifications, raw material specifications, etc.
  2. Perform back-up duties as Document Control Coordinator
  3. Seek to improve training in skills required for the position
  4. Adhere to Company Policies, Procedures, and Rules
  5. Create and maintain a safe working environment
  6. Create and maintain a clean and sanitary working environment
  7. Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
  8. Perform any other work duties as assigned.
  9. Work interdepartmentally with operations employees and managers to successfully meet their needs.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required;

3 years related experience and/or training.
