JOB DESCRIPTION

The Small Business Sales Manager will play a key role in providing oversight to enterprise sales related to all small business offerings. The incumbent for this position will be responsible for end-to-end administration of small business including managing relationships with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), participating in rate review meetings, preparing comparative analysts, as well as reviewing plans, rates, and how the programs are being offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a sales liaison across the enterprise team as a central point of contact for communication and marketing for small business offerings.
  • On behalf of sales, provides strategic planning for small groups across the enterprise, including providing recommendations regarding current sales team structure and channel strategy.
  • Collaborates with Marketing on program strategy, product/portfolio management, development of new materials, systems development, and campaigns.
  • Develops process documents, ensuring management approval, to direct TPAs and internal teams in addressing issues as well as new or changing processes which enhance the overall program and support growth objectives.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to TPAs, general agents (GA), and internal departments related to small business programs for group setup/structure, small group offerings enterprise wide, etc.
  • Partners with Legal to update/modify/manage TPA and GA agreements and address regulatory filing responses, ongoing program issues/concerns, issues raised by TPAs, GAs, brokers, groups, as well as potential regulatory concerns.
  • Monitors program sales and terminations to identify potential problems and recommend updates/changes as necessary.
  • Partners with Delta Dental plans outside our enterprise on small business offerings, working with Marketing on materials and Rapid Rater development.
  • Addresses program renewal strategy, guidelines, and recommendations with underwriting team.
  • Stays current on market trends and competitors to ensure we are meeting the needs of the market.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred in Business Administration, Marketing or related field. Candidates with proven experience will not be excluded from consideration.
  • Strong project and time management skills and multitasking abilities is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and lead staff and cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Valid driver's license, ability to travel and sustain company expenses for a period of one month.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a personal car for company business in a proper, safe, and responsible manner.
  • Proven commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Excellent administrative and follow-through skills.
  • Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology ("CDT") codes and dental nomenclature.
  • Familiarity with available competitor products and services.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 21. $80,500 - $174,300
