Leads and provides oversight and guidance to ensure that assignments or projects are completed such that stated objectives/desired outcomes/results are met in compliance with the stated timeline/deadline for completion.

Proactively anticipates challenges and recommends effective options to complete assigned tasks, projects, team efforts to completion.

Develops professional, creative, and engaging training content materials for Patient Registration, both hospital based and OP Center based, all functional areas of the Business Office, and Physician Office practices based on most current knowledge of widely accepted best practices for adult learning and job training.

Conducts online learning courses, classroom training, in-service training, post training job performance assessments, and focused re-training of employees.

Demonstrates professional leadership skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications and relationships.

Works autonomously to manage assigned projects, tasks, team functions, training courses scheduled to complete to desired outcome in required timeframe, using appropriate judgment and decision making and demonstrating resourcefulness.

Functional areas supported: Pre-registration, Registration (Hospital, Outpatient Centers, Physician Practices), Financial Counseling, PBX, Room Control, Denials Management, Audit, Commercial Collections, Customer Service, Commercial Reimbursement, Self Pay Collections, Insurance Verifications, Financial Assistance, other Revenue Cycle functions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads and provides oversight and guidance to ensure that assignments or projects are completed such that stated objectives/desired outcomes/results are met in compliance with the stated timeline/deadline for completion.

Proactively anticipates challenges and recommends effective options to complete assigned tasks, projects, team efforts to completion.

Demonstrates initiative to lead team efforts and to learn new and improved methods to overcome new and old challenges.

Achieves results/desired outcome or conclusion by showing initiative, appropriate choice of resources, showing regular forward progress with minimal need for oversight/intervention of leadership to meet initially stated timeline/deadline.

Effectively serves as a seasoned team resource by consistently demonstrating the ability to use appropriate judgment and informed/knowledgeable decision making to provide guidance to fellow team members.

Conducts structured observation sessions to learn business processes to document, analyze and structure training products in a manner that best supports the learner, including the full range of learning styles and pace.

Develops professional, creative, engaging, and effective training content using Articulate applications, MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and other interactive computer based learning software as may be prescribed by team leadership.

Manages student information in Northside Hospital's Learning Management system, including class enrollments, quarterly class entry and maintenance, student class attendance, monitoring of online learning course completion, and class grades.

Establishes initial system access for the majority of systems used by Registration team members.

Acts as the communication hub for all insurance plan/provider updates and process and system changes by providing communication to team members, specialized online training, and maintaining current information in shared online folders and by maintaining the Revenue Cycle website.

Conducts online learning courses, classroom training, and in-service training for Registration (Hospital, Outpatient Centers, Physician Practices), Financial Counseling, Room Control, and all functional areas of the Business Office.

Conducts post training job performance assessment and focused retraining of employees for Registration (Hospital, Physician Practices), Financial Counseling, Room Control, all functional areas of the Business Office.

Participates in system implementations and upgrades by developing test scripts for unit testing and integrated testing and by actively participating in unit testing and integrated testing with Information Systems.

Designs and publishes quarterly Course Catalogs for Patient Access and the Business Office, including class schedules for the upcoming quarter.

Maintains assigned Revenue Cycle University training materials by maintaining current information in the course presentation, Guided Notes, and test and informs team as updates are made via the assigned means of communication.

Designs and develops staff education and development for special purposes, including but not limited to, performance/productivity improvement, regulatory practices, and ongoing education requirements.

Remains informed on current processes and systems for Front Office or Back Office Universities (depending upon work area), including web based applications, systems user functions and workflows and incorporates changes into the training material so that training content maintains relevancy.

Maintains electronic education records in Northside's Learning Management System and prepares reports as directed.

Utilizes the Quality Assurance System to identify trended training needs. Receives and analyzes trends identified from the QA Audits for training effectiveness to continually enhance training content. Reviews QA Audit scorecard information with employees and supports employees and leadership by recommending methods to improve QA scores.

Identifies opportunities for process improvements, makes recommendations to improve processes, and assists in development, training, and implementation of process changes.

Acts as a liaison for all Patient Access and Business Office areas (including Outpatient Registration) by maintaining communication access lines to assist staff with questions about patient registrations, insurance coding, insurance eligibility and benefits, financial assistance, preparation of estimates, notating accounts, and other related questions.

Prepares course materials and audiovisual aides for class attendees. Establishes classroom locations and schedule of courses for the Patient Access and Business Office Training Calendars.

Actively maintains productivity and status reporting of all work conducted, including classroom training, staff post training assessments and retraining, meetings, team assignments, task assignments, and projects via assigned means of communication.

Actively prepares for and participates in One on One meetings with Coordinator, team meetings, project meetings, meetings with assigned area leadership, and all other meetings.

Maintains current and timely status on all assigned Revenue Cycle Training team processes per the team assignments schedule.

Demonstrates professional communication skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications and relationships with team members, team leadership, and all other persons with whom interactions occur.

Works autonomously to manage assigned projects, tasks, team functions, training courses scheduled to complete to desired outcome in required timeframe, using appropriate judgment and decision making, demonstrating resourcefulness, and meeting assigned deadlines consistently with minimal intervention/oversight.

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injuryaccident to Manager.

REQUIRED:
1. High School diploma or equivalent and (6) years of healthcare revenue cycle leadership experience in area relevant to assigned area (Patient Access, Business Office, or Physician Practice)

OR

Associates degree in Business, Health Administration, or Education with 4 years of Healthcare revenue cycle

OR

Bachelors degree in Business, Health Administration or Education with 2 years of leadership experience in area relevant to assigned area (Patient Access, Business Office, or Physician Practice)

2. Two (2) years of professional, structured training and education course development or relevant teaching experience.

3. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; must score in high range on pre-screening communication skills aptitude assessment.

4. Proven high level of knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle systems.

5. Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel, and Outlook) or equivalent; must score in high range on pre- screening communication skills aptitude assessment.

PREFERRED:
1. Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Education, or related field is strongly preferred.

2. Healthcare revenue cycle leadership experience in area relevant to assigned area (Patient Access, Business Office, or Physician Practice) is strongly preferred.

3. Professional, structured training and education course development for revenue cycle training courses is strongly preferred.

4. Functional knowledge of Cerner healthcare system.

5. CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate), CPAR (Certified Patient Account Representative), CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative), or CHFP (Certified Healthcare Finance Professional).
