The mission of the Sidewalk Program is to support the agency's goal by providing for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people by making sidewalks safe and accessible for all pedestrians.

Under general supervision, the selected candidate will respond to inquiries related to on-going construction, enter and update pedestrian ramp information using multiple databases; assist with tracking purchase orders and contract payments related to the pedestrian ramp program; process payments thought PASSPort; create receiving reports and receipts for vendors to facilitate payments for work performed in the right of way. Scan and file invoices in the Division's database; collect barrel information from the field operation for entry into the central barrel database; assist with the staffing of SIM booths at NYC events, such as Summer Streets to bring awareness to communities about the Pedestrian Ramp Upgrade Program; perform additional administrative tasks when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Preferred Skills

Preference will be given to candidate with prior experience providing information to the public, experience working in Excel and have strong communication (oral and written) skills and organizational skills.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
