Job Description

The Sinclair School of Nursing invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow to join a foundation-funded research project focusing on telehealth implementation in nursing homes. This 12-month fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to advancing our understanding of telehealth's impact on older adults, particularly individuals with dementia in rural settings.

The position allows for remote work flexibility, providing an ideal opportunity for a qualified candidate to engage in rigorous research while benefiting from a supportive academic environment. Occasional travel to Columbia, Missouri is required to participate in meetings, events and conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting mixed methods research to investigate the implementation and outcomes of telehealth interventions in nursing homes.
  • Designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, including interviews, surveys, and data analytics.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to analyze data, interpret findings, and contribute to scholarly publications.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including nursing home staff, residents, and families, to ensure comprehensive understanding and impact assessment.
  • Participating in meetings and conferences to disseminate research findings and foster collaboration within the field.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: A recent PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Nursing, Gerontology, Health Services Research). Applicants must have completed their degree or expect to complete their degree by July 1, 2025. Anticipated start date July 1, 2025 or August 1, 2025.

Candidates will be evaluated on:

* Experience or strong interest in mixed methods research and implementation research, particularly in healthcare settings.
* Familiarity with issues related to older adults, nursing homes, dementia care, and rural health disparities.
* Excellent communication skills, including academic writing and presentation abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse research team.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
