Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager Reports To: Facilities and Maintenance Manager Location: Whitesboro, NY Job Type: Full-time, On-site Position Description The EHS Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the performance of the environmental, health, and safety programs at the Whitesboro, NY Pursuit Aerospace Manufacturing Facility. This role ensures strict compliance with OSHA, EPA, FAA, and other industry-specific regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safety excellence. The EHS Manager will lead initiatives to minimize risks, prevent incidents, and ensure environmental sustainability in a regulated, precision-focused environment. Competencies:

Key Responsibilities: Safety Program Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA and internal programs.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific safety regulations related to aerospace manufacturing, including machine safety, hazardous material handling, and PPE requirements.
- Conduct daily facility safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances.
- Oversee emergency response planning, including fire drills, chemical spill protocols, and evacuation procedures.
- Promote a zero-incident culture through continuous employee engagement and awareness programs.
Environmental Compliance & Sustainability:
- Ensure strict compliance with EPA, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Oversee hazardous waste management and disposal procedures in accordance with RCRA and DOT regulations.
- Manage air emissions, wastewater treatment, and stormwater compliance activities.
- Develop and monitor environmental metrics, such as waste reduction, emissions, and energy efficiency.
- Lead sustainability initiatives to minimize the facility's environmental impact.
- Oversee site Safety/ 1st Responder Team
Health & Wellness:
- Implement and oversee occupational health programs to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce repetitive motion injuries.
- Collaborate with HR to support employee wellness programs, including mental health and fitness initiatives.
- Ensure proper respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and exposure control programs are in place.
Training & Employee Development:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs tailored to aerospace manufacturing processes, including:
- Hazard Communication (HazCom)
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Machine guarding
- PPE usage
- Emergency response drills
- Forklift Training
- Provide new hire orientation and ongoing refresher training.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all training sessions.
- Promote employee engagement through safety meetings, toolbox talks, and recognition programs.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate EHS records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including OSHA logs, EPA reports, and incident summaries.
- Track and analyze safety performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison during EHS-related audits and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in EHS management within an aerospace or advanced manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FAA, and industry-specific regulations.
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies (e.g., FMEA, JSA, HAZOP).
- Experience managing hazardous material programs, including MSDS/SDS compliance.
- Strong understanding of machine safety, LOTO procedures, and fall protection systems.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- OSHA 30-Hour or 40-Hour Certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus; we are a Kaizen-strong organization.
- Familiarity with Nadcap compliance standards.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $95,000- $115,000 annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, and geographic location.
