Smith+Nephew seeks a Product Management Intern in the Robotics and Enabling Technology business to join the Global Robotics Product Management team. This role will focus on enhancing the user experience and synthesis of user needs for feature development based on feedback from UI/UX workshops, sales teams, and field personnel.

This opportunity allows an enthusiastic individual to contribute to system-level design optimization by gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing user and field feedback. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with user-centered design processes, and a collaborative mindset. The position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

What will you be doing?

  • Collating outputs from UI/UX workshops to develop a system-level summary of optimal user experiences and allocating feedback to appropriate workstreams.
  • Leading analyses with sales and field teams to gather feedback and determine appropriate outputs to address areas needing improvement.
  • Synthesis of combined user and field personnel feedback to enhance platform usability and efficiency, with alignment of end use needs
  • Support in prioritization of feedback and supporting needs for impactful market adoption.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and marketing, to align development efforts with strategic goals.

Planned Start Date: May 19th, 2025

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: o Enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: o Previous applicable internship, co-op, part-time, or apprenticeship experience preferred.
  • Experience in UI/UX research, product development, or human factors engineering is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and prioritize user feedback.
  • Familiarity with surgical robotics, medical devices, or healthcare technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
