The Ultra Assurance function is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and fulfilment of Ultra's Quality Policy, which is to comply fully in the conduct of the Company's business with all applicable regulatory and customer required specifications, and to maintain an effective Quality Management System, working in partnership with the Operations and Engineering teams to ensure that products and processes conform to applicable standards and specifications, and the incidence and costs of quality non-conformances are constantly monitored and improved, while maintaining the highest practicable standards of manufacturing productivity and efficiency.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing production lines and devising test procedures to identify manufacturing deficiencies that cause quality control issues.
  • Developing standards for the department.
  • Auditing the current state of the system and how it works while using RCCA methodologies to implement robust corrective action plans.
  • Writing, executing and managing test cases.
  • Process documentation, workflows, process improvement, and help build standards.
  • Forming tools and ideas needed for day-to-day management.
  • Participating in designing metrics for measuring performance and process improvements.
  • Providing suppliers with technical oversight and expertise in areas such as Process Development, Lean Six Sigma tools, Measurement Systems, Preventative Maintenance, and Mistake Proofing.

Required Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or applicable field
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, quality control processes and manufacturing workflows
  • Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies or process deviations
  • Strong analytical thinking to troubleshoot quality issues and suggest solutions
  • Ability to document findings, write reports and effectively communicate with teams
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software packages.
  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Desired Skills:

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Familiarity with universal tools and manual/digital measuring equipment (i.e. calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.)
  • Internship or project experience in quality engineering, manufacturing or product testing

Expected Compensation: The expected compensation for this role is $20.00 hourly. Please note, this is the expected compensation however, Ultra Maritime considers many factors in determining compensation prior to office, such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions.
