This position provides complex analysis of clinical and financial data and is responsible for design, modification, and maintenance for UCDHS Management Reporting out of EPSi. The position also leads special projects utilizing current technology to develop and enhance processes and reporting. Knowledge or experience with Python, SQL, Power Bi and Power Query, Tableau along with advanced MS Excel skills will be preferred
The position requires a high level of financial and clinical judgment, technical skills, creativity, organizational and project management abilities. Specific knowledge and experience in professional and/or hospital billing required. The incumbent must also demonstrate strong leadership and professionalism in dealing at all levels in the health system.

- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Experience performing high-level analysis to aid in the financial and strategic management of the organization
- Experienced in working with people of all levels of the organization
- Ability to build relationship with peers, business partners, and leadership team and present complex topics to all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated professional level of analytical, statistical skills to conduct complex analyses.
- Ability to work independently, taking responsibility for projects with input on objectives, with minimal direct supervision
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, internal control concepts, and financial concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate both orally and in writing in a professional, tactful, and effective manner with a broad range of individual styles and managerial levels.
- Ability to communicate project status with department leadership and identify and resolve issues impacting team performance and/or project outcome.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and produce quality work, while meeting deadlines.
- Experience in the design of report formats, extraction of data, and development of financial and statistical reports.
- Ability to interpret various reports, e.g., financial statements, labor distribution reports, the general ledger, health system policies and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work, clearly communicating status and achieving timelines.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work effectively in teams.
- Shows respect for institutional policies, procedures, systems and relationships.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and use independent and mature judgment.
- Strong communication skills
- Broad understanding of health care financial and reporting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic medical center/health system experience.
- SQL server experience or demonstrated knowledge preferred
- Experience using the EPSi and cost accounting system or other hospital cost accounting system strongly desired
