TITLE: Electrical Engineering Root Cause / Production Engineering (SWAT) Engineer

DUTIES: Root cause issues on vehicles at all stated levels of build. Identify issues and root cause, identify ownership of the issue, and drive issue to resolution. Work on early prototype builds to review Process Standards, Functional Objectives, and Fault matrixes. Root cause vehicles thru development process. Review, support, and run process standard reviews, as required, where they apply to in plant testing. Root cause warranty issues at dealerships, and production as needed. Support and validate in plant testing equipment. Electrical system readiness for launches at the plant Test driving vehicles. Debug mule builds and assess whether issues are relevant to the production intended vehicles. Carry issues forward to production design team. Develop a cross functional team to manage process standards, functional objectives, and fault setting criteria for in-plant testing. Track and report status of completion to Sr. Management. Debug Plywood buck after build-up. Identify component communication issues and work with engineers to resolve hardware and software issues. Run end of line in-plant test scripts to insure modules are responding correctly and test script is written to align with the associated plant. Document issues and follow to closure. Set up and lead the plant Quality Team prior to in-plant vehicle builds. During in-plant builds, manage all electrical testing issues with Quality Team to ensure quick resolution. Ensure all manufacturing issues are identified and reported to the manufacturing team for quick resolution. Present electrical test launch status in daily and weekly reports, and present to Sr. Management at executive reviews. Track and root cause captive and fast feedback vehicles during testing. Communicate with dealers on customer issues. Travel to dealerships to work on customer vehicles to expedite problem resolution. Up to 20% domestic travel is required.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related and 1 year of experience in job offered or related electrical engineering position. Experience must include: Knowledge of vehicle systems; Experience working with CDA, CAN, CANalizer, and Canoe; Experience with writing software/hardware requirements; Experience working with Vehicle Electrical Architectures including CUSW, TIPM, Powernet 1/2/3, Atlantis Mid/high; Experience with creating, reading, and diagnosing logs; Experience with designing and troubleshooting component diagnostics, including diagnostic interface between components modules and network functions. A valid U.S. driver's license is required.
