Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineering Test Lead, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, TN. The Design Engineering Test Lead will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

Work will be performed at the Arnold Air Force Base near Tullahoma, TN. Interface design engineers and management to assign tasks, manage schedules, and process timecards.

Job Duties:

    Support management of the design workload associated with the lead's assigned section.
  • Line management of a team consisting of 7 to 12 mechanical, aerospace and civil/structural design engineers.
  • Assign and schedule the day-to-day work of individual engineers, adjusting priorities, monitoring status and coordinating with the Design Scheduler on activities.
  • Coordinate work with engineers, Project Managers, and Craft personnel in other organizations to support design efforts.
  • Works with Design project leads to ensure on-time delivery of project deliverables associated with the supervisor's assigned section.
  • On-boards and mentors new hires.
  • Plans day-to-day operations. Organizes project and task workloads, selects individuals most qualified for assignments on specific projects and makes task assignments, authorizes overtime, and controls costs.
  • Manages employee performance and results; utilizes company systems and tools to document results in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and execution of common work processes and procedures within engineering across the TOS contract.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering with 5 years of progressive and relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and progressive and relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of Arnold Design and Manufacturing business processes and capabilities
  • Knowledge of engineering codes and standards
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated performance managing time of sizable teams
