Our company's measurable growth is in no small part due to our team members in North Carolina, Arkansas, Illinois, and Missouri, who each have a seat at the table to contribute to our success Job Summary Plays an instrumental role in ensuring smooth operation of our turkey manufacturing facilities. Responsible for using production metrics to develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules that optimize resources, minimize downtime, and align with production goals, customer demands, and inventory goals. Key Responsibilities * Develops comprehensive production schedules based on production forecasts, inventory levels, and customer orders to ensure timely and efficient production processes. * Collaborates closely with Production Managers, Procurement teams, and other relevant departments to gather necessary information on resource availability and constraints. * Identifies potential bottlenecks in production capacities and works with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that optimize throughput. * Monitors daily and weekly performance against predetermined schedules, adjusting as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations. * Coordinates material availability for supplies and ingredients necessary for production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products to meet customer commitments. * Maintains clear communication channels with various departments to keep relevant parties informed of production schedules, changes, and potential challenges. * Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in production scheduling, implementing best practices to enhance operational effectiveness. * Utilizes data review tools to evaluate historical production performance, forecast future demand, and make data-based decisions to improve scheduling accuracy. * Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety guidelines in all production schedules. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards * Familiarity of Lean and Six Sigma principles and applications within a manufacturing environment * Firm understanding of the intricacies of the food manufacturing industry, including the operational model spanning from harvest schedules to further processing and distribution * Proficiency in inventory and purchase planning methodologies * Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally at all levels * Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities * Strong problem-solving and data review skills with the ability to utilize moderately complex datasets to identify root cause and actionable insights * Skilled at project management and adeptly presenting data findings * Skilled at identifying process improvements and supporting the implementation of organizational change initiatives * Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Access, etc.), Power Query application, AS400, ERP (enterprise Resource Planning) and advanced planning systems such as SAP, CAT2, and JDA Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Bachelor's degree in relevant field * Experience in retail, manufacturing, or food manufacturing Physical Demands * While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions * The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection. * Occasional travel may be required.
