Nokia Cloud and Network Services, IP Telephony Applications R&D team is seeking for SBC Systems Engineer / IMS Architect to address growing business needs of Nokia Session Border Controller (SBC) product. The SBC is supported on Virtualized Network Function (including RMS) and Containerized Network Function platforms. The candidate(s) in this role will be required to work with Nokia R&D members (CTO, other IMS products systems engineers / architects, product owners, software engineers) as well as product line managers (PLMs) and customer support teams to define, design and deliver SBC product capabilities for both telecom and enterprise markets. How will you contribute and what you will learn:
- Define SBC product and/or IMS solution level requirements to address new market needs, with a primary focus on Session Border Controller (signaling plane or media plane).
- Collaborate with Product Manager, Product Architect, Systems Engineers, Solution Architects, CTO, and Development Teams to define the product roadmap, feature/requirements definitions, and backlog prioritization.
- Identify product gaps and weaknesses relative to standards and competition,and address them through enhancements and roadmap updates.
- Support the design, implementation, testing, sales, and maintenance of the product with relevant teams.
- Document and present product capabilities internally and externally through documentation, publications, and presentations.
- Share technology and product knowledge across various project team members.
- Represent Nokia R&D both internally and externally.
You have:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. Candidates with a degree in computer science and/or telecom will be more relevant.
- At least 8-10 years of professional experience, including system/solutions engineering in the IMS domain.
- Previous experience in software design, software development, and/or testing in an R&D or similar organization.
- Good knowledge of Session Border Controller products (control plane and media plane), their functions, components, and interfaces.
- In-depth knowledge of IMS architecture and SBC applicable use cases.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP and VoLTE architecture, entities, and use cases.
- Knowledge of 3GPP and IETF standards applicable to SBC signaling and media services and networking.
- Experience and strong knowledge related to the signaling plane: SIP, H.248, Lawful Interception, Diameter, HTTP(S), SIPREC, IPsec, TLS.
- Experience and strong knowledge related to the media plane: H.248, MSRP(S), (S)RTP, RTCP, UDPTL, DTLS, TLS, DTMF, SIGTRAN, transcoding (audio, video) including TrFO, MOS, DSP.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience and strong knowledge related to OAM interfaces (CM, FM, PM): HTTP(S), SSH, (S)FTP, SNMP, NETCONF, RESTCONF.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Openshift, AWS, Azure, Openstack, VMware clouds, Software Defined Networking.
- Data analytics skills and an understanding of Machine Learning technologies and methods would be a plus.
- A Master's degree is a plus.
