Are you passionate about making a positive impact on society through research? Underwriters Laboratories is seeking a motivated and dedicated Research Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025. This 3-month internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a non-profit research environment, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop valuable skills in research and analysis.

What you'll learn and achieve:

As the Research Operations Summer Intern, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

• Assist in conducting business analyses. This may involve literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, and synthesizing information from various sources.

• Help collect and organize data using qualitative and quantitative methods. Analyze data to draw meaningful insights and trends.

• Support in creating reports, presentations, and visualizations. Prepare materials for internal and external presentations.

• Work closely with the functional team and other departments to gather information, share insights, and contribute to a collaborative and innovative research environment.

• Assist in managing and organizing projects, ensuring they are on schedule and within budget. Take on specific tasks related to project goals.

• Stay current with relevant literature, trends, and developments in the safety science field to contribute valuable insights to ongoing projects.

• Perform administrative duties as needed, including data entry, scheduling, and coordination of meetings.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

• Currently enrolled in a master's program in a related field (e.g., engineering, sciences, environmental science, public policy, etc.).

• Recent graduates may also be considered.

• Strong interest in the non-profit sector and research related to safety, social or environmental issues.
