Regional Operations Manager - South Region (Job number: 1230)

We are seeking a Regional Operations Manager to join our federal team supporting our South Region. Our teams are responsible for mission-critical building technologies and solutions for the Department of Defense and other Federal Government sites across the South Region to include HVAC equipment, HVAC Controls and Building Automation Systems (BAS), metering, utilities, lighting, fire, and Electronic Security Systems. Some of our key customers in the region include, but are not limited to, Fort Cavazos (TX), Joint Base San Antonio (TX), CDC headquarters (GA), and the White Sands Missile Range (NM) to name a few. The role will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with customers and employees supporting these sites.

Salary Range:
$130,000 - $165,000 base. Negotiable based on experience.
Bonus eligible: Yes
Location: Remote / Virtual (Work from home) with the ability to travel as needed. Preferably based within the South Region and within close proximity to a major airport
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
Paid Time Off: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)
Travel Required: Typical travel is around 25%. May be higher to start to meet with customers and teams.

As a Regional Operations Leader, you will:

* Manage the overall execution and performance of assigned Installation and/or Service delivery teams for a portfolio of project sites across the region

* Responsible for financial management (P&L) of assigned teams which includes revenue forecasting, billings, collections and resource planning. Ensures that the portfolio of projects assigned to reporting PM's comes in at or below estimated cost

* Assigns projects and ensures appropriate engineering, commissioning, quality control, and safety resources are assigned to those projects.

* Oversee and directs estimating and scheduling of project installation, as well as proposals, change orders, and change proposals

* Establish goals and development plans for all direct reports. Evaluates employee performance and performs salary management.

* Assists with recruiting Project Managers, Engineers, and other team members with the appropriate skills and competencies

* Ensures work performed is in compliance with state, local, federal, and legal requirements and operates with the highest of ethics.

* Ensures staff adheres to all safety standards to include EM 385-1-1 and our site-specific accident prevention plans

* Develops and builds contractor, customer, consultant, subcontractor, and assigned team relationships

* Follows up on customer satisfaction issues and drives resolution. Provides leadership by demonstrating focus on achieving customer satisfaction (internal/external)

* Coach teams on the management of project risks, conflict resolution, and establishment project recovery plans.

* Assists Regional Manager in preparation of annual strategic and financial operating plan.

* Assists Management, Sales, or Project Managers in the review and interpretation of contract terms and conditions.

* Assists project development team with operational metrics, cost structure, and local resources/contractors necessary to expand the Federal portfolio on-site

Required Qualifications:

* 10+ or more years of operations management experience in the Building Construction Industry including 7+ years of direct project management experience. Experience supporting military or other federal government sites strongly preferred.

* 5+ years' experience with the direct supervision of Project Managers.

* Demonstrated proficiency effectively managing a Profit and Loss (P&L) statement.

* Demonstrated proficiency with forecasting projects.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate technical information to non-technical teams

* The ability to travel around 25%

* The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.).

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience leading or managing operations teams at U.S. federal government sites.

* Experience working with U.S. government contracts and federal procurement standards.

* Experience leading/supporting projects related to commercial or industrial HVAC mechanical systems (chiller, boilers, etc), Building Automation Systems (BAS), Electronic Security Systems, or other commercial or industrial size building technologies

Preferred Education:

* Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or relevant experience.
