Overview

LMI is seeking a Remote Windows System Administrator to support critical IT infrastructure within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train (ART). The ideal candidate will work as part of a cross-functional Agile team, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of Windows-based environments. This role requires close collaboration with developers, cybersecurity personnel, product owners, and military stakeholders to optimize system performance, implement security best practices, and support enterprise-wide IT operations.

Responsibilities

    Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise applications within an Agile Release Train.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Apply security patches, updates, and configuration changes in compliance with DoD security policies, including RMF and STIG requirements.
  • Support system backups, disaster recovery plans, and data integrity measures.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Configure and maintain networking components, including firewalls, VPNs, and domain services.
  • Work with cybersecurity teams to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with DoD security frameworks.
  • Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell or other scripting languages.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, Iteration Planning, Daily Standups, and Retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate software updates and ensure smooth system operations.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and maintenance activities to ensure knowledge continuity.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Windows system administration, IT infrastructure management, or network operations.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP management.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with DoD security frameworks, including RMF, STIGs, and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, HBSS).
  • Experience working in an Agile or SAFe environment and collaborating within an Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for system automation and task management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel once per quarter for PI Planning.

Preferred:

  • SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner, SAFe DevOps Practitioner).
  • CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or other cybersecurity certifications.
  • ITIL or Microsoft Certified (MCSA/MCSE) certifications.
  • Experience supporting DoD or military IT environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, including Azure, AWS, or DoD-specific cloud solutions.

Target salary range: $95,348 - $167,812
