Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Utilize computer-aided drafting techniques to perform applicable drafting work. Make required calculations to determine and establish acceptable standards of performance, material selection, type of construction, etc. Prepare sketches or drawings, set up specifications, and other pertinent design data for layout drawings. Conduct necessary investigations pertinent to design and maintain reference criteria related to design. Analyze manufacturing and material costs. Develop designs that can be produced economically to maintain or improve EK's competitive position. Follow up on the construction and testing of projects and assist with analyzing results. Perform corrective re-designing when required, with guidance. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Three to five years of related experience and/or training with a High School Diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in computer applications, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and drafting software. Strong technical drawing skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material cost analysis. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
