Trulaske College of Business at University of Missouri Department of Marketing Job Description
Applications are invited for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor of Marketing and Executive Director of Center for Sales and Customer Development (CSCD). This is a non-tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Marketing of the Trulaske College of Business at University of Missouri. Start date of the appointment will be Summer 2025 or sooner. The Duties and Responsibilities for This Position * Teach foundational courses to undergraduate students in the fields of Personal Selling and Sales Management. * Provide strategic leadership to the Center for Sales and Customer Development (CSCD) by: o Cultivating and expanding corporate partnerships that align with the Center's goals. o Hosting corporate partners' visits, in-class presentations, and social networking events. o Supervising the CSCD's staff and student assistants. * Lead fundraising initiatives to support the CSCD and the Department's mission and to develop major donations for the naming rights for the CSCD and the Inside Sales Lab (ISL), enhancing resources and opportunities for students and faculty. * Oversee and enhance the Department's popular undergraduate Certificate in Sales and Customer Development program o To provide students with real-world, hands-on sales experience via internship and experiential learning programs, including the ISL. o To mentor and guide students through competitive sales events, industry competitions, and career development, fostering their professional growth and leadership skills. o To organize on-campus CSCD student education activity-related special events, including the annual Top Tiger Sales Competition. * Provide services to the Department of Marketing, the Trulaske College of Business, and University of Missouri. * Develop and oversee the CSCD and the ISL budgets and student activity-related expenditures in consultation with the department chair and/or the dean. Qualifications
Minimum: * Bachelor's degree * Experience in sales and/or sales management Candidates Will Be Evaluated On: * Highest degree earned in marketing or related field. * Previous teaching experience. * Interest in and ability of working with corporate partners to grow the CSCD and the ISL programs. * Interest in and ability of teaching personal selling and sales management classes. * Past experience in fund raising or familiarity with and potential ability of doing so.
