Description

Reporting to the Director of Seafood Procurement, the position is responsible to provide support to the procurement team in alignment with ongoing shifts in supply chain purchasing. The incumbent needs to work closely with our buyers, planners, international offices, suppliers, sales and marketing to ensure we are meeting the needs of the business. The position involves contact with outside suppliers, Customs brokers, quality control, production, distribution, department managers and senior managers. Internal customers are production, sales, marketing, team in Asia, and product development.

Accountabilities and responsibilities




  • Providing feedback to Director of Seafood Procurement, relating to offshore supplier issues, which will enable us to improve supplier performance.
  • Providing support to the entire procurement team to include specification changes and PCR's, running supply planning sheets for identified species and supporting artwork files from GSM.
  • Temporarily step into a Procurement Planner role due to absences/vacations.
  • Plan and communicate needs-based forecasting for assigned species
  • Coordinate, organize, and communicate change as needed from procurement related to PCR changes within multiple species or SKU's that are sourced.
  • Provide support to the Buyers and the team in Asia when necessary art changes, circulation, and support approvals are needed with commercialization.
  • Communicate order needs to buyer and update them on any changes to demand or supplier production.
  • Communicate changes in supply and update system with transit changes
  • Coordinate approvals with multiple departments.
  • Set up and maintain systems information for procured items to drive accurate MRP messages.
  • Gating projects for bids and new items - working with marketing as main contact to collect buyers pricing.
  • Work closely with logistics to monitor cross-border shipments and changes to ocean freight shipment processes.
  • Facilitating set up of new suppliers and assisting suppliers with procurement module related issues.
  • Coordinate sample shipments and monitor requests on repacks an alternate using system processes.
  • Ensuring suppliers are paid on time through following the invoice matching procedure.
  • Ensuring accurate input of sustainability information by suppliers.
  • Ensuring the timely disposition of rejected products and overages, contacts/arranges for product to be returned to supplier.
  • Pull and analyze material requirements from system and determine volumes that will ensure proper inventory levels are maintained to meet customer requirements.
  • Supporting and updating the procurement module information to ensure accuracy and reliability. Participating in the further development and improvement of the procurement module.



Qualifications




  • University degree in business or related experience


  • Minimum three years' experience in related field is preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with excellent organization, negotiation, follow up and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrates ability to pay close attention to detail and the quality of your work
  • Team player who believes in providing high level of customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and requests in an efficient manner and on a timely basis
  • Agile to changing demands and processes
  • Present desire to look for innovative ways to make things better and more efficient
  • Proficiency with an ERP system utilizing MRP or other replenishment tool
