JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for monitoring, directing, and motivating employees in their assigned area. Coordinates activities of assigned employees to receive, pick, put-away, check, and conduct floor duties using the M.O.S. guidelines. Plans, directs, monitors and reports on the daily operation of the section/process under their umbrella of responsibilities to their direct supervisor. This position has responsibility for safety, quality, inventory accuracy, completeness and productivity.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Effectively lead the work processes in the assigned work area.
  • Identify variances in resources and plans and communicate them to their direct supervisor.
  • Train and monitor assigned employees on work processes, including execution and accuracy of operational procedures.
  • Identify and communicate action plans to remove obstacles that prevent the completion of the work process, to their direct supervisor.
  • Maintain the correct S.O.P.'s for the assigned work area.
  • Gather and report results accurately using the M.O.S. guidelines and properly utilize the tools of the Management Operating System (M.O.S.).
  • Assist in the accuracy management of the AS400.
  • Advises employees on the care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped including the use and care of all equipment.
  • Walks through their assigned area to verify status and visually checks for facility and/or equipment damage at the beginning and end of work day.
  • Discuss the previous day's results (safety, quality, productivity) with employees and communicate the goals and priorities at the start of each shift.
  • Communicates changes to warehouse staff, priorities, and equipment failures to their direct supervisor.
  • Performs warehouseperson duties as necessary to achieve shift goals.
  • Completes end of day reports as directed.
  • Observes employees to monitor compliance with established policies, procedures, and time commitments, and provides timely feedback to their supervisor regarding observations.
  • Provides input regarding observations of employee productivity.
  • Participate in team projects as directed to ensure projects follow established time lines.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.
  • Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and 3+ years of warehouse experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Experience with all types of material handling equipment, including but not limited to order pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, semi-automated pallet wrapping machines, dock levelers and manual dock doors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced in AS400 transactions and reports
  • Bilingual Spanish

Sitting, walking, standing, bending at the neck, bending at the waist, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, twisting at the neck and waist, repetitive use of hands, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder, carrying/lifting up to 50-75 lbs.

PPE REQUIREMENTS

  • Safety glasses

  • Steel-toe slip-resistant shoes

  • Hearing protection (e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs)

Salary may vary based on experience.
